Though we do not get the
day off work, Valentine Day is a holiday celebration. It is a
celebration of love and friendship. We give valentine cards to
the special people in our life, family and friends. We reserve
special gifts and special cards for those with whom we are
involved romantically.
Many people go out to dinner on this holiday.
This means reservations in advance for some restaurants and
waiting in a line and waiting for service in others. Sometimes
a good plan goes bad. What can you do? How about making a
dinner for the two of you at home to celebrate this special
day?
Give your loved one a special invitation. You
can create your invitation using computer graphics or you can
handwrite the invitation.
Plan your meal ahead of time. What is your
loved one's favorite meal? If you work, take into account the
time it will take to prepare your meal? Depending on your menu,
you may be able to prepare some foods ahead of time.
To make it a special occasion, set the dining
room table with linens, candles, flowers, and your
favorite china and crystal.
Some suggested dinners include meals that you
probably do not eat every day such as steak and shrimp or steak
and lobster. You can prepare your loved one's favorite meal
such as lasagna, spaghetti, or chicken alfredo.
Do not forget dessert. Make it something really
special like a chocolate soufflé, cheesecake, or a chocolate
cake.
If you have children, you may want to ask a
relative or friend to let them spend the night. When dinner is
over, there are a number of ways to end the evening
romantically. One idea may be to clear the living room floor,
put your favorite music on, and let the music take over.
Spending quality time with your loved one on
this special holiday will enhance the romantic feelings you
have for your mate all year long.
